First setbacks

For my placement I wish to work with an organisation that helps individuals, families and communities with the effects and issues that come with drugs and alcohol. I have contacted a wide range of organisations and have received my first few emails of rejections. Even though these emails are disheartening, I understood from the start that I would face setbacks. I will not let this discourage me from continuing with my search. The stress grows…

and it begins…

Good evening,

My name is Michael Vo and I am currently in my final year of my Bachelor of Public Health degree! The moodle site for term 1 is up and running and even though the actual term does not start I thought I would get a head start and get myself ready for this year.

In the future I wish to work with an organisation that is focused on drugs and alcohol and found myself building a passion for this area. To get term 1 rolling I have sent out emails and inquiries to various organisations such as QuIHN, Brisyouth, Liveslivedwell and DoveTail for potential placement opportunities. I plan to spend my spare time reading through the latest journal articles relating to drug and alcohol and health promotion and researching the various organisations I applied for to prepare myself for potential interviews and meetings.

Hope to hear from everyone else in the same boat as me.

Michael
